Steve Jobs, 1955-2011

賈布斯,謝謝您對人類的貢獻.

I heard about Jobs' death three weeks ago when I was at sea on a Mediterranean cruise, I was deeply saddened by the passing of the giant whose contribution in technology changed the lives of many. Especially for me, when my son showed me his ipad last Christmas, I was shocked by the amazing power of the device from Apple. I immediately went out and bought myself an ipad, as a Christmas gift for me. I have been drawing on ipad ever since and I LOVE it.

I did this cartoon on ipad while resting on the ship deck, sent the drawing out via wifi to the editors in New York when I found a Starbucks at a port in Turkey. For the drawing, I used no real pen, except a stylus; no paper/sketchbook, no color pen/brushes, no bucket of water or mixing pad and I now would be able to carry my ipad and draw wherever I go with no hassle. 

I love my ipad and thank you again, Steve Jobs.

There were two significant events took place in October 2011;

1. Republic of China (ROC) celebrated the founding of the country, 100 years ago.

2. People's Republic of China (PRC) celebrated the success of Revolution overthrew the Qing Dynasty's rule over the Chinese empire, 100 years ago.

So were these events really the same? You draw the conclusion.
