2012 London Olympic

2012 London Olympic ended on 8/12/2012. For the past two weeks,  I taped and watched many of the competitions and was amazed that the focus of the competitions seem to have shifted from individual accomplishments by the athletics to the number of medals countries were winning, almost like good old Arm Races among the big boys in the 70s. I feel too much politics have been played among the countries, can't we just have simple fun together playing the "games" any more? By the way, I even spotted former "Govenator" of California,  Arnold Schwarzenegger, in the audience without his housekeeper as the body guard.

Speaking of having fun and lighthearted moments and I have to point out that Bond Girl connections at the opening ceremony when Queen Elizabeth jumped out of the helicopter and suddenly showed up at the stadium gracefully just like a Queen. Maybe I'm so dumb who did not understand the British humor but those two cute dogs in the clip were the real winners.

Nobody saw how the Queen actually landed but her ruffled hairs seem to suggest that indeed she had jumped. 

Here is a close up pic of her jump but I wasn't sure that was her or Lady Ga Ga.

I am not into fashion and I wear outdated clothes which are cheap and comfortable. However, last month wife and I went to an exhibit by Jean Paul Gaultier at De Young Museum in San Francisco. If you do not know who he is but I'm sure you have seen his cone-bras worn by Madonna.








After seeing the exhibit. all we could say was "WOW".

I was blown away by his sense in design, creativity without boundaries and most of all, he is absolutely daring. Below are a few pictures which I took from the exhibit, the picture qualities are not very good since no flash was allowed:

This dress was completely made from stitching together  continuous ribbons.

Unfortunately, the exhibit will end on 8/18/2012, please hurry if you want to see it.

Just for fun, below is a swimsuit posted by Yahoo which is cute but generated a lot of online chats. People are most interested in those tan lines it would produce on her body when she wakes up next morning ---
