Beijing has spoken out against Washington’s warning to China not to challenge Japan’s control of disputed islands in the East China Sea – a brewing argument between the two Asian countries that has intensified in recent months.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed its displeasure a day after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton assured Tokyo of American support for its territorial rights and warned China against any unilateral action in the dispute.

针对中国外交部驳斥美国国务卿希拉里支持日本对钓鱼岛行政管辖权的言论，美国国务院22号回应称中国不应该指责美方，希拉里发表的讲话只是重申美国立场，没有新的政策。美方也称，希望日本执政联盟公明党党魁山口那津男访华，能够真正促使中日通过对话解决钓鱼岛争端。
美国国务卿希拉里近日在与日本外务大臣岸田文雄举行双边会晤时强调，美国承认钓鱼岛属于日本行政管辖范围，反对任何侵害日本行政管辖权的单边行为。此番言论被认为是对中国发出间接警告，违背了美国的中立立场。中国外交部认为希拉里的言论罔顾事实，不分是非。
对此美国国务院发言人纽兰22号回应称，希拉里的讲话反映的是美国长期以来期望中日通过对话解决分歧的一贯立场，没有任何新的政策。纽兰认为中国不应该把关切指向美方，而应该与日本政府共同努力化解分歧。

Last week, President Obama unveiled sweeping proposals on gun control, including a ban on military-style assault weapons, a reduction of ammunition magazine capacity and stiffer background checks on gun buyers.
National Rifle Association President David Keene quickly accused the Obama administration of being opportunistic. The president is "using our children to pursue an ideological anti-gun agenda," he said.
The NRA has already begun to lobby on Capitol Hill to counter the administration's effort.
To get a sense of what the NRA might do, it's helpful to look at how it scored a victory during the last major federal initiative to tighten gun control.
